In 1987 our founders started what became DaltonCarpet.com, located in the carpet capitol of the world, Dalton, GA.  As a husband and wife team they recognized the need for a way for people to buy carpet direct and save money. They saw that many times the way carpet was being “retailed” was simply inefficient, causing extremely high prices.  Carpet is different from other stuff we buy.  It’s big.  It’s bulky.  Handling carpet was expensive.  And making it more expensive is having to pay for retail space to store the carpet for months, and once sold had to be picked up and delivered again, this time to the consumer.  So we decided to do it differently.  We ship direct to you, without a middleman and all that extra expense.  By shipping direct, that alone can bring the cost down by about 20%, and that’s only the beginning of savings of buying direct.  That’s good for you!  So now you know when you see a good savings from us, it’s not because it’s “too good to be true”, it’s because we have found the most efficient and cost effective way of buying and shipping quality flooring.
