Polyester
Today due to many technological advancements, the gap between polyester and nylon has been drastically reduced. Manufacturers have worked hard to improve the performance of polyesters, and now polyester is stronger and more durable than ever before. Manufacturers are confident in the longevity of the new polyester, demonstrated by the longer warranties. If budget is your biggest concern, and you find yourself changing carpet every 7-10 years, due to decor changes, then a polyester may be an excellent choice and a no brainer.
It’s important to note that both nylon and polyester carpets are available in a wide range of qualities, and so a high-grade polyester carpet may outperform a low-grade nylon carpet.
