Warranty

Importance of Installation
Carpet must be installed in accordance with installation guidelines and specifications by DaltonCarpet.com, and maintained (carpet care) recommendations, and such maintenance continues throughout the duration of the original installation.

Improper installation and maintenance can cause problems with your carpet.  Discuss installation, care and warranties with your sales person or call our Information Center at 706-226-9266 to discuss proper installation and care for residential and commercial products.

Commercial carpet should be installed in accordance with the Carpet and Rug Institute’s standard CRI-104. Carpet must be over manufacturer’s recommended pad. All large areas should be glued down, with or without pad. Pattern streaks and banding are visually apparent streaking in patterned carpet resulting from linear juxtaposition of pattern elements visible in both length and width direction. It is not a defect, but is inherent in solution dyed graphic and cut/loop patterns. All Specifications subject to normal manufacturing tolerance.

Should a defect covered under warranty be found, the affected area will be repaired to to conform to the warranty.  If repair is not practical, we may, at our sole option, replace the affected carpet or refund the proportional purchase price for the affected area only.  Any costs incurred for moving of equipment, furnishings, partitions, freight and installation will be at the consumer’s expense.  Replacement carpet will come only from current running line products comparable to the warranted product.

Warranties apply to the original purchaser only.  We do not recommend DIY installations.

Spots and Spills
Prompt attention to spots and spills is essential. Some spilled materials will stain or discolor carpet if not remove promptly.  Other spills can leave a sticky residue that ma result in increase soiling if not removed.  No carpet is stain proof, although many are stain resistant, which allows time for removal.

Remove as much of food spills as possible by scraping gently with a spoon or dull knife.  Absorb wet spills as quickly as possible by blotting repeatedly with white paper or cloth towels.  Always blot, never rub or scrub abrasively, as a fuzzy area may result.  When plotting, work from eh out edge in toward the center of the spot to avoid spreading the spill.  Always follow up with water to revoke detergent residue that may become sticky and cause rapid resoiling.  Remove remaining moisture by placing several layers of white towels over the spot and weigh them down with a heavy object that will not transfer color, such as a plastic jug of water.

Certain products found in most homes can cause irreparable damage to your carpet.  Bleaches, tile cleaners, mildew removers, over cleaners, drain openers, pesticides, and some plat foods can have strong chemicals which discolor or dissolve carpet fibers.  Acne medications containing benzoyl peroxide, are capable of permanently damaging your carpet and most other fabrics as well.

Periodic professional cleaning is highly recommended.  We recommend only hot water extraction, utilizing carpet cleaning products, equipment and systems certified through the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal fo Approval Program.  Non approved cleaning products and topical treatments, applied by you or by a professional carpet cleaner, may result in damage to your carpet that will not be covered by your warranty.

Our warranties also specifically exclude any carpet which has been treated after installation with any silicone based anti-soil treatment.  Also, any carpet in any nonresidential use or subjected to abnormal abuse.  Excluded are carpets exposed to very hot substances or damage due to the application of improper cleaning agents.

Vacuum Frequently
Remove dirt accumulation and prolong the life of your carpet by vacuuming often.  Be aware than some vacuums have overly aggressive action which may damage the surface of your carpet.  An inexpensive, less efficient vacuum can remove surface dirt but will not effectively remove the hidden particles embedded in the pile.  For most residential carpets, make sure your vacuum is certified through the CRI Seal of Approval/Green Label Vacuum Cleaner Program.

Most vacuums are not designed to work perfectly with all types of carpet.  The operation of certain types of vacuums is impeded by the plush, ultra-soft surface and the machine cannot be easily pushed across the carpet.

Most often we recommend a vacuum with a rotating brush to agitate the pile and mechanically loosen soil particles  The exception to this is for shag styled products and longer yarns which might tend to wrap around a rotating brush.  For those styles we recommend suction-only vacuum.

Commercial Products
For any loop commercial product proper seam sealer is required to minimize or prevent yarn from raveling and fraying at the seams.  Warranty does not cover carpet installed on stairs or in areas subject to abnormal foot traffic use, damage from flooding or excessive moisture issues, burns, cuts, fading, matting, pills, pulls, odor, soiling, staining, tears or damage due to improper installation or due to improper cleaning agents or methods.

Fiber Abrasive Wear:  Under normal use, carpet using our approved face fiber will lose no more than 10% of the pile face faber, by weight, during the warranty period.  This warranty does to cover appearance retention, matting and crushing and normal appearance changes in high traffic areas.

Chair pads are recommended under roller caster chairs to inhibit premature wear of the surface of the carpet.

Carpet should be installed in accordance with the Carpet and Rug Institute’s standard CRI-104.
